MESSAGE .................At 11.10am on Tuesday 18th May 2010 a burglary occurred at a house in School Close, Great Alne when a male person called at the house and asked to read the electric meter. He further stated that the elderly occupant was due a refund and handed over cash and then asked for change. When this man had left the occupant found that a handbag and purses had been stolen.
The offender is described as a white male 40 to 50 years, clean shaven, well built with dark clothes. A white van with yellow or red lettering was near the Close at this time, in which was a thinly built male with long grey hair.
If you have any information or see this individuals or vehicle please contact the police at Alcester via 01926 415000 and quote incident number 131 of 18th May 2010.
Please also advise elderly residents to not allow persons into their house unless they are sure of their identity.

At just before 9pm on 24 February 3 offenders entered a home in CampLane, Henley in Arden via an unlocked kitchen door. All three were wearing balaclavas or hoodies with scarves and one was carrying a spade removed from the garden. A female resident of the house was sitting alone in the lounge and was approached in a threatening manner by the male carrying the spade whilst the other two conducted a quick search of the kitchen and stole a set of car keys. All three then left the premises and stole a Renault Clio which was parked nearby. An old white Transit van was seen in the area at around 6.30pm and may be connected. At 9am the following morning, 25 February, the male resident of the house returned home and saw a male breaking into his Citroen Relay van parked in a layby. The resident and his som challenged the offender and were both assaulted. The offender then ran to a waiting vehicle and made off towards the A3400. The offenders are believed to be the same ones as the evening before and were using a blue BMW 316 on an 02 plate. Please contact Alcester police if you believe that you may have any information connected to these incidents. Please also ensure that you lock and secure all doors and windows when not in use and remain alert an on the lookout for suspicious persons or activity around your own or neighbouring homes.
